A customer asked: “We all have fear and most of it comes from our thoughts. And in my business there is fear of rejection, fear of looking foolish, fear of failure, etc…. How would I use the mind machine to help overcome fear?”

My answer: “By realizing fear is not worth it. Being afraid of something is one thing, but fear is like a preconceived notion that something is going to go wrong. That causes undue stress and anxiety and can lead to failure. Screw-ups are going to happen, so is being rejected. It sucks, but it happens to all of us. Make fear less important in your thoughts, try smiling when you have thoughts of fear. Fear is an unnecessary emotion when it comes to sales so learn to relax and don’t dwell on what makes you fear the unknown, instead turn those negative thoughts of fear into positive feelings of self-confidence. Try an alpha/theta session that is built into the DAVID Delight Plus or Delight Pro by Mindalive or the Procyon or Kasina by Mindplace light and sound brainwave frequency entrainment systems to get you into a hypnogogic state of consciousness where you can visualize any fear into asking yourself why you are fearful of something that hasn’t even happened yet. A customer asked me a very interesting question the other day about training with mindmachines  that is worth sharing with those of you in the business of direct selling. She is in the direct selling business which requires going out talking to people and making phone calls and such. In her past that hasn’t been her personality, She has decided to change herself. She truly enjoys the growth and personal development that comes with it. She studies a lot of training like with Grant Cardone and Tom Hopkins. And she asks: “How would I use my mind machine to help me memorize the training better, and is there a way to make it a part of myself sooner. (Than say the 10000 hours rule)”

To which I replied: “Something I learned long ago from listening to Tony Robbins was where he said your mind will listen to your own words moreso than listening to someone else saying the same thing. So what I do, and have suggested to many others, is record in your own voice the material you want to commit to memory and listen to that audio track while doing a light and sound session. Light and sound brainwave frequency entrainment systems like the DAVID Delight Pro, DAVID Delight Plus, Mindplace Procyon and Proteus are excellent choices when committing to memory what you are learning. Most people choose to use a theta binaural beat frequency session, some find alpha the better choice. For me theta works best, but as all of us are different, what works best for one not always works best for another. When looking at the prospect of entering a new market that you think could benefit from the products you offer seems like an excellent idea but wondering HOW you can gain access inhibits you from trying, there is a visualization method you can employ by using the DAVID Delight Plus or DAVID Delight Pro light and sound mindmachines by Mindalive that just may hold the answer.

Both the Delight Plus and Delight Pro mindmachines, also referred to as brain machines, dream machines or psychowalkmans, contain visualization sessions targeting the theta brainwave frequency state of consciousness. Water conservation has been at the forefront of local news for several months because of the extreme water shortage here in Southern California. So I put my DAVID Delight Pro mind machine to the test, using an alpha / theta light and sound brainwave frequency session and thinking ‘creativity and the California drought’.

I came up with an idea that saves my household over 150 gallons of water per week. We have rain barrels connected to the gutters surrounding our home for those rare moments when it actually rains and after that one alpha / theta brainwave entrainment session, I had an ‘aha’ revelation…

Since I rarely use bleach-based laundry detergent when I wash clothes and such, why not connect the washing machine grey water to one of the rain barrels?

So I did. Behind the washing machine I changed the pipes so I could either let the grey water flow directly into the rain barrel or flip a switch and have the water flow into the drain pipe like before. It took less than three hours of labor and $40 for parts.

The result has surprised us all and gotten the attention of our neighbors. Since the retrofit, I have not had to use tap water for inside or outdoor plants or for washing our cars. And concerning the plants, we’ve noticed that affids and other unwanted bugs no longer find our plants to their liking and have gone elsewhere, yet ladybugs and the occasional preying mantis’ still call our yard home.

R.I.P. David McLaughlin

 

David McLaughlin was well known in the light and sound mind machine community. Having worked with the late Rayma Ditson-Sommer, Ph.D. in Scottsdale, Arizona for years, then later taking his knowledge of brainwave entrainment to Egypt and for the last few years Mexico City. It was in Mexico where David did his greatest work, helping women empower themselves who before had little to no self-esteem. David McLaughlin was a leader in his use of mindmachines and his absence will be greatly missed by many.

For me, one of the most fascinating examples of David’s ability in utilizing light and sound brainwave equipment was what he called the “Principle of Thwack”. That name he gave it was hilarious and yet extremely defining. His approach to helping those in need through this principle improved the lives of many. In my book “Mind States: An Introduction to Light and Sound Technology” you can read about David’s principle and exactly what it’s purpose is.

Before his death, David visited his sister in Santa Barbara, California. It was here that the following four 30 second videos were taken. They illustrate how witty and insightful David McLaughlin could be.

A few years back I met an assistant coach for a local professional basketball team that had high blood pressure. He was being constantly monitored by a nurse as his team traveled around the country making sure his blood pressure was stable. Being followed around by her 24/7 drove him crazy – his words, not mine. So I turned him on to a light and sound mind machine (also known as a brain machine, dream machine, even psychowalkman). I showed him how to use the mind machine and suggested he try the built-in sessions in the alpha and theta brainwave frequency ranges. The sessions helped immensely and the team was able to scale back the nurse’s long hours of making sure his blood pressure was in the healthy range. And I was the lucky recipient of several excellent tickets for some exciting NBA games. Volunteer work does have its perks!

Having more things to do in a day than you have time to do them can be a major source of stress and irritability. Your entire schedule can have a cascading snowball effect… you begin to get upset with yourself because you are making mistakes, friends back away because those mistakes are causing you to get mad, your brain is chattering away and won’t stop, you begin to lose sleep at night and the whole mess starts up all over again the next morning. You become depressed, down on yourself, short with others and everything suffers. Most of us just can’t multi-task, and those that do are just kidding themselves that they can do several things simultaneously and think everything will come out just as good as when that take on one thing at a time. Multi-tasking is not more productive!

So what do you do? Things still need to get done. Well, you can learn to prioritize, learn to delegate or learn to say “NO”. Those are much better than having a heart attack or stroke.

 

Start by looking in the mirror and telling yourself you need to change. Try smiling while you are standing there, you may surprise yourself. Then get to work fixing your mess. Its really quite simple.

 

Then set aside twenty minutes during the day for ‘me time’. Don’t be negative! One errand or chore or responsibility can wait for twenty minutes. During that time use a light and sound mind machine, also referred to as a brain machine or psychowalkman. Select a twenty minute session in beta or alpha or theta, or before sleep select a delta brainwave session. You don’t have to do this every day, but please, do it frequently – for yourself.
