Designing Your Own Sessions  continued

Let personal preference guide you as far as session length. Many believe thirty minute sessions are most advantageous. Others believe seven to twelve minute sessions work best. Since you are the one designing the session, you should be the one best able to make the decision. If it sounds good, if it makes you feel good, then go with it!

Every session should have three sections: the beginning or induction period, the middle or core period and the ending, where returning to your normal waking state is highly recommended (unless it is a Delta/sleep session).

An induction period can be long in duration. Either holding a frequency or gradually ramping up or down to guide the listener towards the core. This longer induction is sort of like a “settling in” period or “calm before the storm”, depending upon the type of session you have in mind. You may also choose a short induction or none at all. Save time and just zoom right to the core. It all depends on what you prefer.

The core or middle section is really the “meat” of your session. First, know what mind state you are aiming for and target frequencies that are associated with that state. Second, decide how long you want this section to run. To determine which frequencies to target for each mind state, refer to the general brainwave categories section.
