Designing Your Own Sessions.
As of yet, not one institution of higher learning offers a doctorate in light and sound technology. So who are the designers of light and sound sessions? People just like you. All they possess that you do not is experience. But with patience and a few ounces of creativity, you too can learn the recipe for creating effective and beneficial light and sound sessions.
This is what you need to get started: you need to understand the interaction between brainwave frequencies and the states of mind that they are associated with; and you need to take the time to listen to the sounds created by individual frequencies. What sounds good? What sounds completely annoying? Combine and refine.
Once your session is finished and you are happy with the results, ask others to try the session to see if their experiences are similar. When approaching them, say as little as possible. Not to appear flighty, but to give them as little of preconceived notion as possible. After all, you would like their honest reactions. Remember, you are not looking for their analysis of the session, but rather how differently they feel after the session as compared to how they felt before.
Now, how do you actually structure a light and sound session? There are six primary ways to manipulate frequencies when constructing a session. They are: using a ramp, jump, loop, micro loop, holding a frequency and stairway motion.
