Put your mind in a positive place…

Put your mind in a positive place…
To be successful think positive. To think positive stay focused on goals. Use tools that enhance the mind’s ability to focus. The pROSHI Neurodynamic Activator is the best tool made for such enhancement.

The pROSHI is a simple to use (turn unit on, close eyes, adjust light intensity, meditate) light stimulation device that disentrains the mind’s brainwaves. In so doing the mind ceases all brain chatter and begins to listen. During a pROSHI session neuropathways are repaired, rejuvenated or redirected in such a way that the ability to concentrate on achieving goals becomes easier and more clearly defined.

The pROSHI 2 comes with three different ROSHIframes (Mag-Stim included) and is for years been actively used by those in the professional medical community. Three dimensional two-channel ROSHIframes became available a few months back and are being heralded by therapists and clinicians as their primary adjunctive modality for professional medical treatment. Both the pROSHI 2 and pROSHI 3D systems are highly beneficial when dealing with head trauma, PTSD and a host of others that affect how we think.

The pROSHI is expensive. The pROSHI is expensive to build. Regardless, when people are seeking the finest in brainwave stimulation with a system built to last a lifetime they choose pROSHI. Instead of paying the total amount in one lump sum purchase by credit card and spread the payments out. And use your pROSHI to amplify your positive thoughts.

The only retail website authorized to sell the pROSHI 2 and 3D systems is Mindmachines.com. Everyone at Mindmachines regularly partakes in pROSHI sessions and possess the knowledge to correctly answer your pROSHI questions. They also express ship all pROSHI orders worldwide for free.

What Type Of Light and Sound Mind Machine Do You Need?

What Type Of Light and Sound Mind Machine Do You Need?

By Michael Landgraf

Ask yourself what you need a light and sound mind machine for…

If you need to relax, you do not need an expensive machine. There are many instruments available that will meet your needs. These units cost between $175 and $250. Most of these instruments contain sessions in the beta, alpha, theta and delta brain states.

Most are made of hard plastic while others are of metal. Both are durable, have very few moving parts and should last for years. These light and sound machines are simple to operate and are perfect for beginners or for those of us looking only for basic sessions.

Often times I will take one of my basic units that have open-eye lightframes with me on camping trips. Not that it is needed in the great outdoors. Sometimes it is nice to combine the outdoors with a light and sound experience. Especially after a session. Or how you prepare for your session. Anyway, I dropped a unit in a stream once. It was soaked, but after drying out for a day and a half, it worked just like new. So yes, basic brain machines may be construed as ‘beginner’ systems, but they are very dependable!

If you are interested in mind exploration, then get a light and sound machine that offers a variety of built-in sessions. Most have space available for you to custom design your own sessions, like the DAVID Delight brain machines from Mind Alive, Inc. Adding the DAVID Session Editor software to your Delight system will enable you to design personal light and sound sessions that you easily create and download to your mind machine.

Probably the greatest advantage to having a more advanced model is the fact that most all of them include multi-color light stimulation. Having a choice of colors, generically acknowledged that warmer colors like red and orange are more effective with higher brainwave frequency states like beta and cooler colors like green and blue for meditative and insightful states. Pure white color remains the most popular choice as it’s stimulation is applicable to all the general brainwave states.

It all depends on what you want light and sound sessions for and how much you are able to spend. Based on quality, effectiveness and features, these are my recommendations for mind machines based on cost: Under $200. the Proteus; under $300. the DAVID Delight; under $500. the DAVID Delight Pro; and for those of you meditative explorers seeking ‘timelessness’ look no further than the DAVID Delight Pro mind machine.

I do not believe there are that many quality sound only instruments or MP3s available. By quality I mean possessing the ability to keep the mind entrained for prolonged periods of time. There are two MP3 downloads that are worth the investment. The Virtual 515 mindmachine and Ocean Sleep. These MP3s are excellent for using with either headphones or speakers, enabling listeners to walk around while enjoying their brainwave entrainment sessions instead of having to remain stationary (as when doing light and sound sessions) and for creating the desired “atmosphere” in a room or fairly large area. They are also beneficial to those who are light sensitive or are unable to use light and sound because of possible adverse effects.

Stress –> Exhaustion –> Bingeing –> How to break the cycle? (Part One)

Stress –> Exhaustion –> Bingeing –> How to break the cycle?  (Part One)

By Catherine Garceau

10 years ago, I ended an Olympic career due to a destructive cycle of bingeing and purging on food. I’ve since been on a quest (seemingly endless) to understand the many intricacies linked to these unstoppable urges to eat.

How could I will myself to an Olympic bronze medal but not be able to use this same will power to overcome devastating struggles with food and body?

This question not only set be on a new journey of self-discovery, it also inspired my first book, Swimming Out Of Water: How An Olympian’s Struggle Inspired Breakthrough Discoveries in Health and Well-Being
.

More than a book, it inspired my life’s work.

Coming out later in 2012 will be the EAT360 online program – that will allow women worldwide to break through like I did with food and body.

Stress –> Exhaustion –> Bingeing –> How to break the cycle? (Part Two)

Stress –> Exhaustion –> Bingeing –> How to break the cycle?  (Part Two)

By Catherine Garceau

We can’t escape the complexity of our relationship with food (believe me when I say I’ve tried).  While I do believe that the adventure of going deep into the intricacies of this relationship is well worth it, I also like to mention simple tools, like brainwave entrainment, that make parts of it easier to engage in and follow through on.

Several experiments with meditation have demonstrated that brainwave balancing can lead to reduced stress, increased peace and greater emotional awareness (all necessary to break the bingeing cycle). For this reason, I’ve tried many mediation practices over the years, never to find any relief or improvements.

When I started using the David Delight Pro, an Audio Visual Entrainment device with Cranial Sacral, however, something changed. Finally, I experienced results in mind/body health through improvements in my ability to relax, be calmer, and better integrate the work I was doing with Emotional Freedom Techniques (more on this later). I’ve since called it the glue to my rejuvenative lifestyle.

Let’s face it, our world is going faster and faster, stress is everywhere we turn.  We know we need to slow down, but our brain is wired to do the opposite.

It’s no wonder ADD, ADHD, adrenal fatigue, stress and depression is making us emotionally overwhelmed, and sadly, stuffing our feelings down with food.

I’m not here to say that brainwave entrainment is all we need to break the bingeing cycle, because there really is much more to experiencing complete freedom from it all, but balancing brainwaves bring upon great relief from anxiety, thus diminishing the intensity of binges.

As I share more 360 degree practices with you, I wanted to highlight brainwave entrainment as a technology all women struggling with emotional eating should know about. Use it in the morning and I night – this is a great first step towards breaking the cycle of stress, exhaustion and bingeing!

Performance Tools I Wish I Had During My Olympic Days

Performance Tools I Wish I Had During My Olympic Days

By Catherine Garceau

For as long as I can remember, I’ve been prone to over-worry and emotional upset.

“Why are you crying Catherine?”, my mother would ask as a cried again and again, silently in my corner.

For the most part, when I think back at my upsets as a kid, I don’t remember what I cried about. I do recall feeling anxiety and allowing it to creep up at the slightest onset of doubt or disappointment.

Growing up as an athlete, I started off as a pool rat in the summer, and quickly began to train and compete as a dedicated amateur synchronized swimmer all year round. All throughout, I worried – a lot – and all I was given as a tool was encouragement ‘not to worry’. The famous “don’t think of the pink elephant” syndrome. Good luck!

Alas, after years of psychological mentoring and counseling, I learned to use ‘coping’ tools that helped me deal with my sensitive emotional nature.

Fast forward to 2000, even when I won an Olympic Bronze Medal for Canada at the Sydney Games, I’ll admit that my journey was filled with much more struggle than most of my teammates (at least on the mental/emotional side). I became very good at willing myself to feeling more confidence and strong, but to what expense?

In Swimming Out of Water, I reveal the behind the scenes of this journey, which included depression, anxiety, and what later became eating disorders. All of it sabotaged by life and performance enough to force me to leave the team in 2002, premature of the 2004 Games in Athens I had my eyes and heart set on.

Now, when I watch the athletes compete in London, I wonder WHAT the athletes are ACTUALLY experiencing behind the scenes…Could they alleviate their struggles and/or could they better perform if they had better tools and strategies?

What I’m referring to are the practices I personally live by and teach that foster wellness over fitness, nurture mind/body balance, and support higher levels of emotional intelligence. What we eat, (and what we don’t eat, like the foods that cause immune responses in our body) certainly have a big part in becoming more resilient and less emotionally reactive (yes!… food can mess with our emotions!) but there’s much more available to us.

Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) is one of those tools, which can completely shift our emotional states in the moment and over time. Another magic bullet is the use of a brain entrainment device, which balances brainwaves and increases blood flow in the brain. I can only imagine how unstoppable I would have been as an athlete had I used a device like the David Delight pro and done EFT to clear emotional upset and from stress that is inevitably part of any athletes journey to claim a position on the Olympic podium.

After years of searching and trying every protocol to free myself of emotional eating and sadness, brainwave entrainment (Light and Sound devices) felt like the missing glue to bring it all together. By balancing brainwaves morning and night, I felt more calm and much more resilient to external stress that used to take me down. And as it turned out, a select number of high performance amateur and pro athletes used these technologies to better their results! If only I would have known!

As a retired athlete, and wellness coach who wants to see all our athletes (current and retired) thrive with mind body balance, I’m excited to tell the world about these emotional freedom and performance solutions. Woman of all ages struggling with emotional eating can benefit. Athletes in all sports can benefit.

Every day, we watch heroes perform their ‘best’ at the London 2012 Olympics. As excited and inspired as I get sitting on the edge of my seat watching, I’m also left wondering; “How many athletes are compromising themselves to get there?”
