I.M.S. Integrated Motion...

I first learned about the Integrated Motion System in 1990. I had flown to Little Rock, AR. to meet with the late Rob Robinson, founder of Psych Research, later known as InnerQuest, Inc. Part of Rob's office was devoted to his IMS. After experiencing a session, I was in awe.

In 1994, I purchased my first IMS. I decided to go with the IMS bed rather than the Symmetron recliner, believing the bed would allow people to stretch out easier. With 360 degree orbital motion (controlled speed for moving either clockwise or counterclockwise) and head-to-toe seven degree pitch, the feeling was much like laying in a boat, letting the roll of the "waves" physically relax me. Having the ability to stretch out on the IMS enabled my body to adjust and reposition as the session progressed and my body reacted. Although most customers have purchased the Symmetron recliner because of it's professional appearance, I recommend the IMS bed.

My IMS has been used in over 4,000 sessions. It has been disassembled and reassembled dozens of times, having been utilized in half a dozen different rehabs and mental health centers. And it still runs as smooth as the day I bought it. Even with exceeding the recommended weight limit on several occasions. The image shown, and I apologize for not being able to enlarge it, shows the IMS along with eeg/neurofeedback equipment while at one of our local rehabs. In our "About Us" section, there is another image picturing the IMS with eeg/neurofeedback equipment at one of the mental health centers. Unfortunately there are no professionally done photographs of the IMS (see Symmetron image), so these will have to do for now.

The IMS bed contains two highly crafted transducers located beneath the lower back and upper leg regions. These transducers are much like speakers, but possessing the ability to produce sounds in the very low frequency range. And they are not intended to be listened to by the ear, but by the body: physically feeling the vibrations, also known as tactile stimulation. Imagine the experience of connecting the IMS transducers to the sound port of a Nova Pro. Since the Nova Pro has two person capacity, light and sound (lightframes and headphones) can be combined with the tactile stimulation and motion. This approach takes a light and sound (basically a ‘from the neck up' experience) session into a complete mind / body sensation. What I enjoy doing and have found successful for many applications is using an alpha or theta light and sound session while simultaneously running the beta/gamma session of the 515 CD through the IMS. Mind relaxed and focused, body awake and ready. Great way to take a break!

The IMS weighs about 380 pounds. The bed frame is twin size. Attached to the IMS pedestal, the bed stands approximately 36" off the ground. There is no maintenance other than keeping it clean. The IMS includes: two vibro-acoustic transducers installed and ready to connect to your stereo receiver or amplifier, motion control unit, illustrated instructions, 515 dual binaural beat audio frequency CD (each session track targets a specific body / mind state) and our exclusive LoopLogic CD (37 tracks, 1-37Hz dbb audio sessions) for combining with eeg/neurofeedback training.
